[MW] What I hope from CoD4 Remastered as a 'CoDJumper' player.
A little backstory before I start explaining my hopes for the game:
I've been playing CoD4 since the beginning it came out. I started on PS3, but I later in 2012 switched to PC. Since then I've been regularly playing a mod in CoD4 called 'CoDJumper'. I am still playing it today very actively which is why I am writing this post. I want to share my views to the more ''casual'' part of the CoD4 community who only played the normal multiplayer.
So what is CoDJumper? CoDJumper is a mod in CoD4 which is centered around Strafing and Bouncing in CoD4 MP stock maps or in community created custom maps. The community for this mod is very small currently. I'd say less than 1k players.
If you don't know what strafing or bouncing is in CoD4, I have a few video examples: A custom map Walkthrough
Edited by me Stock Map Bounce Montage
The numbers in the 1st video mean the specific fps needed for that jump. In the older quake engine which CoD4 uses, specific fps gave different kinds of movement speed changes. In CoDJumper 125,250,333 fps are the common fps used and almost every jump in those 2 videos would be impossible without the use of these fps ''switches''.
I think these 2 videos are enough to represent what CoDJumper is, but if you are more interested about that, you can read more about it from the mod's ''offical'' website: http://www.codjumper.com
All in all what I want from CoD4 Remastered:
- Mod Tools (custom maps and mods)
- Console (for adjusting fov and max fps)
- Specific FPS movement effects (quake engine bug)
- Dedicated servers that players can host
Now that I've explained what CoD4 is to me and what I personally hope from the game, I am really curious to see what the rest of the community thinks about this. Would this kind of mod/gametype be possible in the remastered version?
